The main focus of the lecture for my third studio session in DES241 is learning about the importance of prototyping. Prototyping allows us to see whether or not our ideas work, problems that may arise, what improvements can be made and get feedback from others in a more time efficient manner.

What really stood out to me in the lecture was the presentation by Tom Chi which talked about rapid prototyping of the google glass, how his team was able to create such an effective representation of his idea using simple day to day objects and the unexpected knowledge and insights they gain by doing so.

Most ideas begin with the low fidelity prototyping which are prototypes that are easy to mock up and often explains the ideas visually, the negative part of low fidelity prototyping is that it doesn't allow interaction between the user and the design so it is more difficult to test the interfaces. Unity in this content is a high fidelity form of prototyping, the world built through Unity can be an exact reflection of the finished product however it is much more difficult to handle for a beginner.

For unity this week, I decided that for me it is best if I can make sure I am very familiar with the basics before I begin crafting things on my own. Unity has templates and built in tutorials that goes through everything step by step and allows users to play and visually see exactly what has been done, which is very beginner friendly and a great way for me to practice and play around with what I was taught in class.
