Have been talking a lot about how to build a good experience for users using different forms of mixed realities but before all of them we need to understand who we are designing for why we are designing it etc. So in this studio we studied what do we as designers need to consider when designing a product and the principles that we must follow in order to be successful.
Perception: Has been discussed in previous post focus on the experience experienced by the main senses.
Cognition: The cognitive development of the user needs to be taken into consideration when designing an experience, what age group is this experience targeted for and is the interface straight forward enough for the user to use and how long will it take the user to become familiar with? If the user stops using for a while will it be difficult to go back?
Ergonomics: How comfortable is the user when using your product, take into account size, shape, weight, position etc.
Other important values to take into account to enhance experience are social factors, cultural factor, physical factors, cognitive factors and emotional.

Richie's plank is a VR experience that claims to 'deliver the strongest possible emotions in the shortest possible time'. This experience ticks of the perception factor very well as they get the user to actually walk on a plank both in the virtual world and the real world. The graphics is pretty realistic and it contains trackers so the user can see parts of themselves. The interface and instruction is also very simple and straight forward and the head piece is considerably comfortable and can be adjusted to suit different people with different characteristics. However, similar to many VR games because the user is immersed in a whole new world that others can't see some actions that are portrayed may seem stupid and out of the blues.
