HELPLESS

A mountain village

Under the piled up snow

The sound of water

The background story of this movie poster comes from a documentary called 'The most dangerous ways to school: Nepal'(3). It is about a father who has to go through very harsh and dangerous environments to sent his children to school.

The title 'Break Through' is ironic, they are forced to become used to facing the obstacles over and over again. If the father could choose he would never want to leave his children constantly in danger, but he has no other choice, this is why I came up with the quote 'If only... I got the ability to choose...'.

The main colour scheme consisted of a series of less saturated blue to convey responsibility. The red for the string represents danger, on the other hand, the red coming through the black on the hand can also symbolize passion and strength(2). The dominant image is positioned according to the rule of three to emphasize salience. The typography of the title leads the vision towards the dominant image by changing the colour of 'K' and having it lean towards the hand. The upside down 'THROUGH' frames the hand and hints the hardships the character goes through in the story(1).
